WHY MEDIATION ADVOCACY
Asia’s fast-evolving dispute resolution landscape, driven by a clientele growing in education, wealth, and technological capabilities, requires modern advocates to find new ways to resolve disputes quickly and effectively.
SMILE’s Mediation Advocacy Skills Workshops aim to equip participants with a deeper appreciation of their roles as Mediation Advocates.
With the use of real case studies and role-playing sessions by experienced international conflict management experts, participants will be equipped with both online and in-person negotiation techniques, learn how to prepare themselves and their clients for complex inter-cultural mediations, and how to work with the mediator to achieve innovative solutions for their clients.

“The course sets a good foundation for junior advocates like myself. I was provided with clear and accessible materials and lectures, and the course was led by knowledgeable, experienced and friendly instructors who provided helpful tips and personal anecdotes throughout the course. Through practice sessions, I was given the opportunity to practice mediation advocacy in a safe and supportive environment.
Overall, this course has helped me to understand and appreciate the mediation process more. I would recommend it to any advocate who would like to pick up and/or hone their mediation advocacy skills for purposes of real-life practice.”
